The tachymeter

Surveying via triangulation

The tachymeter is the main working tool of a surveying engineer

The most renowned manufacturers are Trimble, Nikon and Leica. The surveying instrument can determine horizontal directions, vertical angles and slope distance to the destination point. Increasingly tachymeter measurements are supported or even replaced by drone in buildings but streets supplemented difficult to access objects such as landfills, mines, dumps, quarries, open pit and slopes. The drone measuring technique allows very detailed topographical surveys for position and inventory plans with a ground resolution to 1 mm / pixel.
